Iran Ambassador visits Minister of Port and Aviation
 

 

Iran Ambassador BCHNAM Bechroos visited the Minister of Port and Aviation recently at the Ministry of Ports and Aviation.

Discussions made here included the developmental activities of the Uma Oya developmental programme. These discussions also included offering higher educational opportunities to the employees of Sri Lanka.

Ports Authority with further training at the institutions in Iran and also to implement an exchange programme of employees as well.

Further discussions made at the visit included strengthening more opportunities for the Iranian President to visit Sri Lanka as well as to commence agricultural cultivations at the suburbs where the Weerawila Air Port is constructed.

The Iran Ambassador also stated that steps would be taken to supply vessels and to assist towards the improvement of the Shipping Corporation.

Minister of Port and Aviation, Chamal Rajapaksa offered special gratitude to the Iran Ambassador for the dedicated contributions and assistance towards the said developments in the country.

The secretary of the Ministry of Port and Aviation Mr. Thilak Kollure, Additional secretary of the Ministry of Ports Mr. Ranjith Silva, Vice chairman of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority Mr. Priyath Bandu Wickrama, Chairman of the Shipping Corporation Mr M.M.Hameed, the Coordinating Secretary of the Ministry of Port and aviation Mr Udaya Boralessa also participated at the occasion.
