SLPA commences services in the New Year
 


Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) commenced all its services in the New Year on the January 1, this year giving priority to religious observances at the Port’s ‘Chaitya’ premises.

Speaking at the official commencement of duties in the New Year, Sri Lanka Ports Authority Chairman Saliya Wickramasuriya said that all services by the SLPA should be further elevated efficiently in order to face both local and international challenges successfully.

SLPA Vice chairman Priyath Bandu Wickrama said that it was important that the employees should have faith in the management for a better future of the whole institution.“We should have faith in each other to work towards the developmental objectives of both the institution and the country,” he added.

Mr.Wickrama also said that 2007 was an especially important year for the local maritime sector as the SLPA was able to reach many targets during the year.

SLPA Managing Director W G Samarathunga. Executive Director Dr. Sanjay Senarath, Director Prasanna Kalutharage, Additional Managing Director Capt. Nihal Keppetipola and many officials  participated at the ceremony.
