A Special two day health educational programme organized by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) for its staff was held on October 2 and 3, 2007, at the SLPA premises.

The inauguration was held on October 2, at the Mahapola Training Institute of SLPA. The two day health educational programme included lectures on health care, First Aid, Fire Hazards and control of such accidents, covering all Divisions of SLPA.

Chairman of SLPA Saliya Wickramasuriya, Additional Managing Director Capt. Nihal Keppetipola, Director Prasanna Kalutarage, Director (Human Resources Development) Norman Weerarathne, Director (Establishments) M.W.F. Wimalsuriya, Director (Training) W.K. Ariyadasa, Director (Operation) U. Bopitiya, all heads of Divisions and staff members of SLPA also participated at the inaugural function of this programme.
