A senior delegation from the Shanghai Port Authority in China made a special inspection visit recently at the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA). The team from the world's number one container port, in their exclusive visit at the SLPA inspected its port operations and the latest state of the art operations equipment  followed by a tour at the on going Colombo Port Expansion Project site.  

At the visit of the Shanghai Port delegation in Colombo, Capt.Nihal Keppetipola - the Managing Director of SLPA made a special  presentation on the current port operations and the overall port development process implemented in the country. With the implementation of a number of steps to enhance operations at the port at present, SLPA  was privileged to have a senior delegation from the world's number one Shanghai Port Authority, in Sri Lanka. 

Mr.Norman Weerarathne-Additional Managing Director of SLPA,  Mr.Upul Jayathissa-Chief Manager (Marketing & BD) of SLPA, Mr.Nalin Aponso - Deputy chief Manager (Com. & PR) of SLPA and six top representatives from the Shanghai Port Authority in China including  Mr. Lu Ping - Director, Planning and Construction Division, Mr. Cui Jianzhong - Deputy Director, Laws and Regulations Division, Mr. Chen Xianbiao - Deputy Director, Safety Supervision Division, Mr. Cao Hongyu - Principal Staff Member, Planning and Construction Division,  Mr. Shen Shuiping- Division Consultant, Personnel Division and Ms. Chen Yingtong - Vice Chief, Shanghai Municipal Navigation Administration were also present at the occasion.
