Lanka off marine war risk list

Sri Lanka has been removed from the marine war and marine strikes risk of the Joint Cargo Committee and Joint Cargo Watch List with effect from yesterday.

Sri Lanka’s removal of Sri Lanka from the marine war and marine strikes list will help boost the country’s economy which was ravaged by the 30 year conflict.

More investment can be expected with removal of Sri Lanka from the marine war and marine strike list. This decision will also give an impetus to the new shipping lines to call at Sri Lankan ports.

The people will also benefit by this decision due to the reduction of import prices and removal of insurance surcharge.

The de-listing of Sri Lanka from marine war risk and marine strikes risk comes in the wake of Lloyds Market Association Joint Cargo Committee Review Meeting held in London on July 2.
