Members of the Shippers’ Council inspecting the Hambantota Port Project with Port and Aviation Minister Chamal Rajapaksa, Sri Lanka Ports Authority Chairman Dr. Priyath B. Wickrama and the Chief Engineer (SPD) Agil Hewageegana.

A team from Sri Lanka Shippers' Council (SLSC) visited the Hambantota Port Development Project recently. The visit had been scheduled as a two day inspection tour.

The tour delegation comprised over 60 industrialists. The team also surfed the opportunities extended by the port development during the coming year.

The ongoing development of the Hambantota Port Development Project has proven the steady and continuous improvement of infrastructure and other facilities in and around Hambantota, paving better ways for numerous business opportunities with the development of the port. With the elevated facilities, the shipping industry would be able to play a pivotal role towards the economic development of Sri Lanka as well as the entire region.
