Allied Trading and Engineering (Pvt) Ltd., supplied one Upright Scissor Lift Platform to SLPA. Upright was introduced to Sri Lanka by AT&E in 2006 to Smart Shirts Lanka, Katunayake which has seven units in their fleet. Its working height is 12M.

The Port of Colombo being the premier Port in the country has become the focal point of all Port development activities in Sri Lanka since the formation of the SLPA.

However, following the Government's policy to develop the regional areas in the country, the SLPA attaches equal emphasis on the development of ports of Galle, Trincomalee, Kankesanthurai, Point Pedro and a new port in Hambantota.
