Lines added one more vessel
to its fleet of owned ships
when it took over the
container vessel M.V. OEL
Gujarat on the 2nd of July
in Singapore. The vessel has
a carrying capacity of 1613
teus.
The M.V.
OEL Gujarat made her maiden
call at the Port of Colombo
on the 9th of July where she
handled over 750 containers.
The vessel was enroute to
the Gulf.
A simple
ceremony was held onboard
the vessel to mark this
occasion, where senior
officials of the Sri Lanka
Ports Authority attended.
There was an exchange of
plaques between the vessels
command and the Sri Lanka
Ports Authority officials.
Today
Orient Express Lines
operates several feeder
services over the Port of
Colombo.
Coincidentally Orient
Express Lines is completing
20 years this year after
commencing operations in Sri
Lanka.
